What can cause any compression of 3-piston?
On the motorway which lost power in the Ford Mondeo Turbo Diesel 1.8. Engine and then breaks try to run then bounces on. Blue smoke at first but then when AA, run the white smoke. The service center says they have to remove the head since there is no compression of 3 cylinder. What could be. The service center would not say that until they have sought. Unless he meant number 3 cylinder and it runs to pass the message to me and was confused. Temperature gauge was normal and no warning lights came on. Oil was checked prior to travel and was good. Thanks for the answers so far. Complementing the timing belt was replaced at Christmas and a pair of valves replaced by the belt was broken Diesel 85k mileage and sudden collapse of energy is not really the loss of power, but the total loss, as in no power. Comments appreciated
From the smoke and all sounds like the head gasket blew in the area of the cyclinder # 3. Since the 1.8 only has 4 or even try to run is 3 of 4 were out. I understand that you miss. In this engine, depending on how many miles are on can be a simple solution. They are not all that bad to work.
