I need help hanging my curtains?
I bought a new bedding set and my rose colored curtains don’t match so I bought new ones. I really like my old ones and after doing an online search, I have determined they are BUCKRAM-HEADED CURTAINS, and appear to be custom. I bought new ones and in the picture it shows them with pleats and it shows them hanging from rings attached to the rod. They are not pleated when I take them out of the package. Do I have to iron pleats into them? How do I do that? I like the way they hang in the picture, but I don’t know what it’s called—the correct term so I know what to buy in the store. They are rings and them some sort of hook hangs off of them and the curtains attach to that. I wish I could just fabric spray paint my old ones because I love them so much but I’m afraid that would wreck the curtains anyway. Help!
The word buckram leads me to believe there is an additional piece of “tape” sewn onto the back. Look at the back of the curtain, and see if there is material with vertical lines sewn in. This would be the place to slip drapery “pins” into. I would suggest taking the curtains to a store, like Penneys or Sears, and ask one of the clerks there what to buy.
