Male cat urinating outside the litterbox … help?
I have a 5 (fixed) years old male cat will use the litter box 99% of the time to urinate and 100% outside when defecating. It has two large boxes that are kept clean and in quiet areas. I've noticed that when urinating outside the litter box (the only state small rugs in the house), he is nothing, as he is in the sandbox. I discovered doing the night in our bathroom on the shower mat. I I believe there is a urinary tract infection or anything and it is to drink a normal amount of water and is not making sounds when urinating. Any suggestions? His paintings are clean. I've realized that getting closer to when my husband and I are getting ready for bed.
Is it only at night that he does this? If so, may want to choose the litter box later in the evening. Some cats are very demanding and will not if there is something in the box. Fortunately you know you will be near the box at that is a bit restrained. To get to the bottom of your challenge, you might want to put something under and around your boxes in case. I do not totally rule out the possibility of infection urine. If you are starting to get one and not too bad, then not necessarily going to make noises when urinating. Good Luck.
