Why weigh scales do differently?
Ok I understand about scales being calibrated differently, but it's really frustrating me. I bought a new scale last night. Scales is a high-tech glass digital display of body fat, hydration, body mass index, and so on, but I weighed 4 pounds more than my old. I tried both on the same spot on the floor and weighed 4 pounds less on my old. I know I weigh much like the new me says it's always going to have to subtract 4 from my weight to make it fair? What do you think is more accurate? The age range is not really so old – Only about a year old – and is also a digital glass scale.
"Bathroom scales" simply are not very precise machines. Most of these products are made to a pattern, so that all mechanical parts are stamped or cut metal standard 'white'. When the metal supplied to the factory, small variations in the way that each batch of metal was made, you can have the same (for example, the spring in their scales) to perform slightly differently. Even digital scales are usually able to gauge, using the weight of a "standard" as a bag of 1 kg of flour. The instructions may say how "zero" the right product, or a more informative user guide could be available in the manufacturer's website.
