Two stations in my drip system Sprinker not be quenched. Is it necessary to replace the valves? Electrical?
I turned off the controller stations and even shut off valve with hand screws up, but still drip! Do I have to replace the valves? I have an estimate a local landscape and its budget was crazy! Please tell me that is an easy and cheaper way to solve this problem.
Yes there is a more cheap …. …… buy a garden hose, but do not know if it's any easier ….. lol. I am not a plumber or a landscaper, but I am an electrician and if the valves solenoid control "circuit" of the irrigation system does not turn off the water when the driver tells you, then you may have to replace the solenoids to the sprinkler system. But if the irrigation controller is not telling the solenoid to turn off, then maybe even the controller itself must be replaced. Could also the wiring. Depends on how old is the system. But I do not think it would be crazy expensive to fix. Home Depot and DIY should be able to say how to change the solenoids and the sprinkler controller so that you can do yourself. As for closing the valves and still dripping a bit …. which makes me wonder if perhaps you shut off valves unwell or have major problems, such a system installed. If I remember correctly, the Web site of Home Depot has an irrigation system planner who can "build" irrigation system and check what is installed in your yard. It's a bit difficult to know for sure without taking into account in person ….. already know? I get another quote or two or three of the contractors who have done work for friends or coworkers. Surely someone you know, know a carpenter who knows an electrician, a plumber who knows knowledge of a landscape or some other combination of the above …..
