Head Lights Sweet

I recently broke a rib and now I have a cough?
It really hurts. (the coughing)
I’ve been to the doctor and he just gave me painkillers, but my family doesn’t trust them so I’m too afraid to take them, aren’t they addictive? I took one and now I feel a bit light headed.
Also should I not take cough sweets with the painkillers?
If you have never really taken presciption pain killers then you will become light headed. It’s a side effect that you experience until your body get’s used to the medication. Usually a couple of doses and the light headeness should be gone.
If you are taking the pain killers JUST for your pain then NO they are not addictive.
It’s OK to have some cough lollies with the medication BUT NOT cough syrup as this contains strong medications that may interfer and change the medication you are on. A lot of cough syrups contains alchohol, which is a BIG NO NO with pain medications.
Take your pain medication ON TIME. EVEN IF YOU DON’T feel intense pain at the time. It is better for you and your body to maintain a dose within your system to prevent uncontrollable pain occuring as that is very hard to get back in control of.
When you feel you are going to cough, to ease the pain, cover and hold a pillow tightly close to your chest. It helps a lot.
