How do I change the kitchen sink in a granite countertop?
Thanks to have answered. Details: The current sink is a steel sink undermount stainless, standard size; faucet and handles are mounted on granite. I want to install a heatsink made of copper or bronze. You can cut the granite. Granite is embedded in the rear and the front counter. Thank you!
The problem with changing a sink, even if it is "standard size" is that there are minor variations from one manufacturer to another. The granite may no longer coincide with the outlines of the new battery. (corner radius may differ slightly.) If you're in a new toilet, try to get the same manufacturer, some offer different materials in the same style washbasin. Now we are getting very difficult because the Ganite seam is right at the sink. The "arms" that reach the sink either side are the weakest point. If you are not careful, may break them when trying to cut the seal between the sink and granite. I'm assuming that the sink was sealed with silicone, when it was installed. What you have to do is remove the tap to remove all the pipes under the sink (clearance issues when the removal of) eliminating sink clips silicone cut the cord out the sink reverse the process of some things to think about, # 1 The receiver may not fit between the cabinet doors. As the installer of granite for years, I'm surprised the number of times that the sink will not fit in the doors, the only way to install it was to fall into the top and then put the granite in place at the top. This happens a lot. # 2 possiblility, the sink can be supported within the cabinet, in this case, the top has to be removed before the basin can be drawn. # 3 may not have space enough to adapt to their hands under the sink for cutting the silicone seal. This then has to be done from above. Easier, but still have to think about it. Good Luck!
