How can I clean mold off satin nickel finishes?
It is a satin nickel finish on a Price Pfister 4-lighting Bulb of vanity.
This may be a little tricky because it depends on what is under the goal. Many manufacturers use a plating over aluminum, which case you can not use many of the solutions that can give you, because aluminum pot. That being said, take the fixture down. Turn around and try to determine if it is plated aluminum or not. If not, try these products in this order, from least to most caustic soda. Dampen a cloth with a product is found in the hallway Laundry called wink. It's made to take the rust stains from fabrics and carpets so it is less caustic. Rubbing until you see the rust that appear in its soft cloth. If mold has penetrated the end will keep the rough spots that should be sealed so that rust does not start again. If that does nothing, try using CLR in the same method, looking for the same. If that fails, try a product in the dishwashing section of the grocery store called waiters friend. Make a paste with water and bartenders friend, use a soft cloth, with no going against the grain of the metal. Wipe the residue with a soft damp cloth. Depending on whether you are left with raw patches or soft nickel finish, mark the places where the rust was a paint sealant on the inhibition of oxidation. To protect the entire fixture, remove the bulbs and spray on a light coat of non-yellowing, oxide and polyurethane closure prohibitive.
