How much to redo our bathroom?
We are in the process of buying a house. The only problem is there is no bath, only shower. Does anyone have a general idea how much it would cost to destroy the shower and a small wall (perhaps 6 feet or 7) to make the big bathroom and add a bathtub? We also want to add accessories to our washer and dryer. We do everything ourselves, so we do not need a budget for a professional, only supplies. Anyone ever do this?
A nice piece vikrel fiberglass or bathroom remodel kit can cost over 500 for the tub and the wall system. In addition to the nails, plaster, joint tape, joint compound and do not forget: the screws on the PVC drain pipe and fittings, copper pex supplies or reconfigure the new bathroom hardware (valve faucet, shower head), the materials to the floor, paint, silicone sealants. there is a lot of little things that add up to a lot of money. I easily factor in nearly a thousand dollars to remove a wall and put in a tub again with the new hardware. you are doing yourself. If a professional do it probably will cost 2000 or a little more.
