Glass Bathroom Vanity

One of the most common questions we receive from our customers is:
What material are your vanities made from?
While the answer is very simple, the answer we get from clients can be frustrating sometimes. There are many myths about the type of equipment cabinets, bathroom. The aim of this article is to help educate you on this issue and provide clarification.
Bathroom vanity cabinets can be made from many materials including wood solid MDF (medium density fibreboard), laminated glass, just to name a few.
These are some advantages and disadvantages of each:
Solid Hardwood
You will pay much higher price for a solid hardwood vanity. Solid wood game has to be rolled grain and color. Also should be properly dried to prevent warping. A waste factor in the manufacturing process. You can determine if a vanity is made of solid wood of looking at the interior finish, if the inside of the vanity has a stain finish, is solid wood, if painted, is made from MDF.
MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)
MDF is a composite wood product made from waste wood fibers glued together with resin, heat and pressure. MDF is used in many applications it is smooth, uniform, and not warp with a quality paint or finish. MDF is appropriate for bathroom cabinetry because it is more stable with changing levels humidity (no swelling or reduction). MDF has gained popularity because it has less impact on the environment compared to wood because it is made from pieces surplus that otherwise would be dumped in a landfill.
Laminate
Laminate comes in a wide variety of colors and textures: wood patterns, stone, marble and solid colors. Laminate is often used in commercial jobs because of their durability and ease of care. It is also used in post modern remodels and room of children.
Glass
This very easy to care is usually considered a contemporary look with cabinet space. Most of the Vanities manufacturers have open storage shelves that require a focus on organization as it is visible to all. Glass vanities can be expensive, depending one the size of vanity. Glass vanities are usually mixed with chrome for a clean line sophisticated look.
All the above materials are acceptable for manufacturing materials bathroom vanities. The most important factor is the quality of the manufacturer. I have personally seen the lines of solid wood vanity that are manufactured poorly, and have seen very high quality MDF bathroom vanities. Do your research in choosing a retailer of vanity, and ideally ask others recommendations whenever possible.
