How to clean a microfiber couch?
I bought a microfiber couch set. It’s a tan color. I paid extra to have the anti-stain on it, but that was about two years ago and now I believe it’s wearing off. The couch has minor stains that are a little darker than the tan color, nothing major. I was wondering any tips on how to deep clean it better?
P.S. I tried a towel with water (that’s how they told me to clean it at the store) and it’s not cleaning some of the stains.
Vacuum up dry messes with a hand vac. Crumbs and dirt should be promptly cleaned up before they have a chance to settle or get worse. This also helps refresh your couch and keeps it looking new longer.
React quickly to liquid spills. Microfiber is designed to repel most liquids; if you catch a spill in time, you may be able to clean it before it has a chance to soak through the fabric. Use a soft cloth or paper towel to blot any excess moisture from your couch.
Use a gentle soap. If your couch happens to get soiled, try a mild soap such as Dove or Neutrogena to gently work the stain out. Start with the smallest amount possible, and then blot to dry.
Buy a microfiber cleaner. There are solutions available specifically for cleaning microfiber couches; check with your manufacturer to see if they recommend a particular product to use on your couch. Mix a bit of the cleaner with water, and then wash the surface clean with a sponge.
Call in the professionals. If you still can’t get the stain out, consult a professional. They have the tools and knowledge needed to get out that stubborn stain.
